Asheville Municipal Golf Course, previously named Buncombe County Municipal Golf Course, is a public 18 hole golf course located in Asheville, North Carolina.
This Donald Ross designed course first opened for play in 1927. Asheville Municipal is the oldest municipal golf course in North Carolina.
The front nine of the par 72, historic course sits on flat terrain and plays to 3,246 yards from the back tees. Its scenic design allows for the use of a driver on most holes. The back nine is hilly with tree-lined fairways. The back nine plays to the 3,194 and favors accuracy over distance. Most of this course's greens are small. There are no water hazards in the design.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,394 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,110 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 4, a par-5 that plays to 536 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 6, a par-3 that plays to 169 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 7, a 406-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Asheville Golf Course is # 10, a 288 yard par-4.

Made tee time was not informed of ariation of greens also ranger on duty and still had backup of slow players not allowing faster play through.this turned into a 5 !/2 hour nightmare with no rythm of play.
